Introduction

FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit is a software licensing package that allows licensing a software application on a concurrent-usage as well as on a per-computer basis.  FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit allows the implementation of a wide variety of license policies by the developer of an application.

System Requirements

·         You need to have a browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer installed to view the FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit online documentation, or Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDF versions.

·         Although you do not need a C compiler to install and begin to evaluate FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit, you will need a Microsoft Visual C++ compiler v6.0 or greater (Windows platforms) or a gcc compiler (UNIX platforms) to build your production toolkit. Please see the Programming and Reference Guide after you install the FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit, or contact technical support for special assistance.

·         To evaluate FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit on Windows NT/2000/XP, you need to be logged in as a user with Administrator privileges.

·         In addition to the above, FLEXnet Licensing Toolkit for Java requires the Sun Java Development Kit and a compatible version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment. See the Release Notes for the supported Sun Java Development Kit.

Prerequisites                                                                                                                                                        

·         Before installing the FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit, you will need a set of vendor keys from Acresso. If you have not yet received an email containing these keys, please contact us. For demo keys, contact your sales person. For production keys, email orders@acresso.com.

o        If you are evaluating FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit:
Demo vendor keys enable all platforms and the TRL capability for evaluation purposes.  You can demo any or all of the platforms using the demo vendor keys.

o        If you have purchased FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit:
Production vendor keys enable specific platforms. The FLEXnet Publisher License Certificate email identifies which platforms are enabled for your vendor keys in the "Vendor Key Information" section of the email. If you purchased TRL capability, there are TRL keys in the "TRL Key Information" section.

Downloading the FLEXnet Publisher Licensing Toolkit

Create an installation directory on your local machine. Consult the table below to find the platform of interest. Using the link in the Platform-dependent Binary File column, download the installer into your installation directory. For best results, download the file directly to your machine and use a browser option (if available) to save the file to disk rather than open the file. If you transfer the file across platforms, transfer it in binary mode.
